Drawing comics was my first hobby I had. I still don't know when I started, but all started with copiing some manga characters of famous manga. After three years of drawing this kind of "Dōjinshi" ("Fancomics") I found out, that drawing manga was not my real passion. I designed a new style, which is more naturalistic than the majority of manga and mildly shaded than marvel. My characters should look and act more or less like real persons but their appearance could be simplyfied a little bit in order to save time. This resulted to realistic and mild stories which happen could in todays world. The names given to these characters needed to fit perfectly to them, and they needed to be names which exist. This is my main motivation and aim to draw comics: Showing new aspects of normal life without great dramatic events or fantasy. Drawing comics is for me more than just writing stories and drawing some characters. At first you might think, that one picture tells so much more than one written phrase, but it isn't. The content of a comic is more complex. You have to think more of (logical) reactions fitting to your characters, you need to have whole plans of the sceneries etc. All in all needs to be logic - The setting, the position of the "camera" etc. Authors might say: "While writing my books, I draw quite a lot of plans and sketches" but I think, that imagining a comic is something like developping a film and drawing it. I adore this hobby, because you don't need to search actors - You just imagine them and draw them the way you like them!Novels
Eventhough I started drawing comics, I found out that writing books is also a passion. I started writing around 2004. It was a fantasy novel of about 500 pages. My next books were Science-Fiction and nowadays I use to write some parodies. These days I'm also working on a book related to my comics. I can not say much about my books because I'm going to write some exposés.
Indiependence as a main topics of this section
Introducing this part of this website, I lend a whole section to "Be Yourself" and "Alex vs. Alex" as my current comic projects. Both comics are somehow connected to each other. "Be Yourself" is a melodram about an ambitious guy, who likes to be a star and is about to loose hisself in order to reach his aim. "Alex vs. Alex" is from an other perspective: The one of Alex J. the friend of Matt and shows his life and feelings after the whole thing with Matt seemed to end. Both comics can be understandale independently, if you know both, you'll just understand three jokes more! This story is a satire of many facts of students lifes. Some might say: "There are a lot of stories about those kind of people", but mine is extraordinary, because it's set in todays Düsseldorf and based upon the zeitgeist. And the last bit I could and should tell you is: It does not end with Matt being a famous and respected singer and it does not end with Alex having a girlfriend and being happy with her!Former works and other current projects are in the sections right below the paragraph. I give some information about these. If you are searching for pictures, you can find them in the gallery. But you will never find one whole comic on my website!
